A beautiful tapestry after the Joan Miró painting “Femme et Oiseaux”, 1966.
This colourful piece is made in Miró’s iconic style, the use of many colours and contrasting black lines are very appealing.
Joan Miró’s career is characterized as one of persistent experimentation and flirtation with signature non-objectivite, colorful, biomorphic forms, roughly geometric shapes, and marginally recognizable objects. He was an early member of the Cobra movement, together with Karel Appel, Asger Jorn and Constant Nieuwenhuis.
It remains in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
