A beautiful “Egg” chair designed by Arne Jacobsen, manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Denmark around 1960.
This eye-catching piece has a chrome plated metal crossbase. The rounded design of the seat gives it a very nice appeal as well as seating comfort. It has a new, lilac fabric upholstery which compliments the style really well. This combination of elegance with modern design, is what makes this chair a highly recognizable Jacobsen design. An inviting and most recognizable piece of Danish design that would be a truly valuable addition to the decor!
Labeled in the frame.
The piece remains in very good, newly upholstered condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was one of Denmark’s most influential 20th century architects and designers. Both his buildings and products, like his swan and egg chairs, combine modernist ideals with a Nordic love of naturalism.
