2301 1 (288) G-Plan Model 62 “Villain Chair”, UK 1960
This is an eye-catching and iconic lounge chair, the model 6250 “Villain Chair” manufactured by G-Plan in the United Kingdom around 1960.
It earned it’s fame
Possibly one of the most famous chairs ever to be captured on celluloid, supervillain Blofeld’s chair in the Bond movie You Only Live Twice (1967) is the 6250 chair, launched by the very British company G Plan in 1962.
At the time it was designed to be “the world’s most comfortable chair”, which definitely reflect in it’s amazing seating experience! Also, the piece was featured in the James Bond movie You Only Live Twice (1967), seating supervillain Blofeld, and thus earning it’s nickname as the “Villain Chair”. Made of high quality deep brown wood and black leather upholstered with a nice tufted finish to the back. The tall backrest, tilted (and adjustable) seat, the ergonomic shape and thick seating cushion all add nicely to it’s style and comfort!
An impressive find that remains in good, vintage condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The piece has a small damage to the leather, as shown in photos.
