A beautiful pair of dining chairs designed by Horst Brüning for Kill International in Germany in 1968.

The chairs have a high quality flat chromed steel base, beautifully bent in shape in highly recognizable Brüning design. The feet are half circle shaped and holding straight bars that smoothly transition into the semi-circle backrest. Upholstered in black leather which very nicely contrasts to the bright frame. The curvey upholstery and straight frame combine very nicely into a unique, luxurious and modern appearance that will make these chairs stand out in any decor! Beautiful from every angle, since the frame has been designed with the finest eye for detail.

Sold as a pair.

The pair remains in very good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use and preserving a beautiful patina.

Horst Brüning (1934) Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1934. After studying architecture and interior design at the College of Graphic Arts in Hamburg until 1956 and complementary industrial design studies in Copenhagen and Stockholm, Brüning set up a design and architecture office in Stuttgart in 1963. During this period Brüning also came in contact with the two danish architects Jørgen Kastholm and Preben Fabricius, involving a loose, amicable connection with the two young Designers and a successful exchange of ideas, which in the end led to international recognition and success. Influenced by international designers and architects such as Finn Juhl, Wegner, Jacobsen and Mogensen, Horst Brüning created furniture programs in collaboration with well-known manufacturers that even nowadays implement the singular Bauhaus idea: minimal in form, functional in application and use, durable in practice, timeless, but nevertheless show the spirit of time.
