Dating from the 1950s, this AP 14 easy chair was designed by Pierre Paulin for A. Polak, Netherlands. An early example of Paulin’s distinctive design language, the chair combines sculptural simplicity with an inviting sense of comfort. Its generously curved form creates a graceful, enveloping silhouette, while the warm brown canvas upholstery adds depth and a refined, natural character.
Paulin’s talent for transforming functional furniture into expressive sculptural forms is already evident in this early design. With its understated elegance, harmonious proportions and authentic mid-century character, the AP 14 would sit beautifully within a sophisticated interior. A particularly appealing piece for collectors of early Dutch design and the work of Pierre Paulin.
