This eye-catching lounge chair, model “Oyster”, is an iconic design by Pierre Paulin for Artifort in the Netherlands around 1950.
This is a highly recognizable piece of mid-century modern design! It has a very inviting appearance: the seat is a big shell with a slightly tilted seat for maximum seating comfort. The large seat is newly upholstered in beautiful quality grey fabric, model “Shaun” by Les Créations de la Maison. This is a soft fabric that resembles sheepskin. It’s rich, soft structure greatly adds to the appeal as well as the seating comfort of the piece! The seat is designed in nice harmony with the narrow, tubular metal base, all elegantly finished with subtle curves and bends. It combines modernism with luxury and this chair will definitely make a great addition to any decor!
This chair remains in very good, vintage condition with new upholstery and only minor wear to the frame consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
