A fantastic pair of lounge chair, model “Repose”, designed by Friso Kramer and manufactured by Ahrend de Cirkel in the Netherlands on 28 May 1969.

These eye-catching chairs are an iconic find of mid-century Dutch design. Their straight forward, modern yet elegant style give them a fantastic appeal. They have a black lacquered metal base, thick upholstered armrests and new grey fabric upholstery. The colours and materials combine perfectly and the chairs have a really nice seating comfort.

Winner of the prestigious Signe D’Or award in 1960.

The pieces are labeled and dated by the manufacturer, as shown in photos.

The set remains in good, vintage condition with only minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The upholstery is new.

The piece has a minimalist, chrome plated metal base on a flat food and round matching dimmer. The eye-catching feauture of this piece is the unique fiberglass shade, Designed to play with the features of light and shape and doing so very successfully! The rough finish of the shade, with jagged and fringed edges, creates an appealing contrast to the clean frame. This combines into a unique structure of this very rare piece! All together it makes a true statement piece for the interior, guarateed to draw the attention while also adding a nice (and dimmable) light to the decor. Adjustable in height from 200 to 250 cm.
