1980s Memphis-style plywood sculpture and room divider entitled From Past to Present, designed by Govert Heikoop, Netherlands. This striking sculptural piece combines playful geometric forms with a bold and distinctive colour palette, characteristic of the Memphis-inspired design movement of the period. One side is finished in white, while the outer side features a soft light pink finish.

Viewed from above, the large upper surface is painted yellow, contrasting beautifully with the projecting section, which is finished in green on its underside. Designed to function both as a sculptural object and as a room divider, From Past to Present brings a strong architectural presence and graphic quality to an interior.

A highly decorative and playful example of Dutch 1980s design. There are two very small spots on the side, consistent with its age and use. The underside is signed by the designer.
