This beautiful set of four Tulip chairs was designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International and dates from the 1960s. First introduced in the late 1950s, the iconic Tulip chair became one of Saarinen’s most celebrated designs, famous for replacing traditional chair legs with a single elegant pedestal base. The sculptural white shells are complemented by comfortable grey fabric cushions, creating a timeless and sophisticated appearance.
The chairs are signed underneath, adding an important detail for collectors and confirming their Knoll origin. With their flowing organic forms and futuristic character, these chairs perfectly represent the innovative spirit of mid-century modern design. A wonderful set for a dining room or as individual statement pieces in a contemporary interior.
There are some small signs of wear and minor damage to the bases, as well as along the rear edges of the chair shells. However, considering their age, the chairs are still in good vintage condition and present beautifully.
