These special “HumptyDumpty” lounge chairs were a pre-production showmodel designed by Pierre Mazairac & Karel Boonzaaijer in the Netherlands mid 1980s.
Later, from 1987 to the early 1990s, this model was manufactured by “Hennie de Jong International Collections.
Part of the “FUNiture” collection that Boonzaaijer and Mazairac made as a personal passion project. After presenting them around the country, the pieces from this collection were only produced for a limited time. These chairs are showmodels that were produced for the very first exhibitions of the chairs, before they were taken into production. This makes them especially rare!
Wooden frame, skai upholstery, metal details. One chair in blue and black, the other in red and white, creating a beautiful contrast.
The pieces from the FUNiture collection were named after iconic pinbal machines. This is how these chairs got the name “HumptyDumpty”, after the first pinball machine with flippers. This emphasizes how these chairs were originally designed with fun in mind. Now, they would make true statement pieces in any decor!
They remain in very good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
